Amulets & Ta'wiz Are Prohibited (Shirk)
Context & Islamic Significance
Wearing amulets, charms, threads, or cowrie shells for protection or healing is strictly forbidden in Islam. The Prophet ﷺ declared: 'Whoever hangs an amulet has committed shirk' (Musnad Ahmad 17422). True ruqyah is spoken recitation and prayer to Allah, not hanging inanimate objects.

🌿How to Perform (According to Sunnah)
If you or any family member possesses amulets or written charms, take them off immediately, destroy them while saying Bismillah, and repent to Allah. Replace them with the daily recitation of Ayat al-Kursi and the Three Quls.
Important Safety & Shariah Note
Ruqyah is a means of seeking Allah's protection and healing; it does not replace medical care. Always consult qualified healthcare professionals for illnesses. Never wear amulets/talismans or visit fortune-tellers/sorcerers.

What is Ruqyah & Its Shariah Conditions
Ruqyah is the Islamic practice of seeking refuge in Allah and asking for healing by reciting verses of the Noble Quran and authentic prophetic supplications accompanied by light, dry blowing (nafth). Shariah conditions: 1) Must consist only of Allah's words, names, or attributes; 2) Must be in clear, understandable language; 3) Firm belief that the cure comes solely from Allah, and ruqyah possesses no independent power.
Seeking Medical Treatment is Mandatory
Seeking medical care and taking medication is an established Sunnah and obligation in Islam. The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Allah has not sent down any disease except that He also sent down its cure' (Bukhari 5678). Ruqyah accompanies medical treatment; assuming every illness is jinn or witchcraft is pure ignorance.
